Toronto Argonaut linebacker and North Bay native Mike O'Shea became the first Canadian ever to reach 1,000 tackles
in the Canadian Football League.

The 14-year veteran reached that impressive feat during Friday night's 13-9 loss to the Saskatchewan Roughriders at the Rogers Center.

The 36 year old Widdifield graduate was given the game ball but after the disappointing loss, he wasn't willing to talk about it.

"The toughest thing was not getting a win in the game he (O'Shea) got the record," said Argos coach Mike (Pinball) Clemons after the game.

O'Shea becomes only the third player to reach that milestone, joining Willie Pless(1,241) and Alondra Johnson (1,084).
