SUDBURY, ON - Shortly after defeating the Sudbury Intermediate “A” Lady Wolves 3-1 to even the 4 point series at 2 points, the Sudbury Lady Wolves Midget “AA” hockey team received an inspirational visit from Olympic Gold Medal champion Tessa Bonhomme on Sunday.

Bonhomme, back row third from the right, was on hand at the Azilda Arena to watch the playoff match between the two clubs and went into the dressing rooms to speak with the girls who were provided a firsthand look at the Gold medal she won while playing for the Canadian Women’s Hockey Team at the 2010 Vancouver Olympics.

The Midget “AA” team includes three girls from North Bay.

Playing in her second year with the Lady Wolves, veteran goalie Marlee Cox is kneeling in the front row. On the right side in the second row is Assistant Captain and centerman Melissa Seamont, with her right winger Molly O’Grady at her side.

The girls are looking forward to playing for some gold of their own as they head south to compete for the provincial championship at the Midget “AA” level on April 9th, 10th and 11th in Toronto.
