KINGSTON, ON - The West Ferris Trojans stayed with the #2 seed Anderson Raiders for the better part of 3 and half quarters but were unable to overcome a late surge and fell 71-56 in their OFSAA AAA Senior Boys Basketball championships opener. The Trojans started well as they went toe to toe with the high scoring Raiders who feature two provincial players in Dayshawn Pierre and Justin Edwards. The Trojans played a nearly perfect 1st half and led 30-29 at the half. As can be expected the Raiders hit their stride and led by 13 with 3 minutes left in the 3rd quarter. The Trojans who had come behind in many games this year fought back and only trailed 50-47 with less than 6 minutes left in the game. A late surge by Anderson and clutch foul shooting as the Raiders were a perfect 8-8 from the charity strip put the game away.

Cole Addley had a monster game for the Trojans leading them with an impressive 21 point performance. Sam Levac added 9 and Jake Tougas added 7 points for West Ferris.

The Trojans will enjoy their banquet Monday night and they are back on the court against the #5 seed Orchard Park from Stoney Creek. This game will be played at RMC at 10:00 a.m.
