Novice AA Trappers claim gold at Sudbury Silver Stick

The West Ferris Skaters Edge Novice AA Trappers competed in the Sudbury Regional Silverstick Tournament this past weekend and came home with a gold medal.


The West Ferris Skaters Edge Novice AA Trappers competed in the Sudbury Regional Silverstick Tournament this past weekend and came home with a gold medal.

The Trappers went undefeated in round robin play facing teams from Barrie, Caledon and Copper Cliff. In the semi-final, the Trappers walloped the Sudbury Bulldogs by a score of 7-2. In the final, our boys took on the talented Barrie Jr. Colts and earned a thrilling eight-round shoot-out victory. The Trappers will now represent the Canadian Northern Region at the International Silverstick Championships in St. Clair Shores, Michigan in late January.

Team members include Owen Bethune, Nathan Caruso, Nicholas Cundari, Joseph Jordan, Jesse Kirkby, Eric Lafontaine, Nicholas Lalonde, Blake Langlois, Patrick Maille, Reece Proulx, Connor Punnett, Logan Roy, Pacey Schlueting, Jack Stockfish and Nicholas Tessier. Team staff includes head coach Mike Stockfish, assistant coaches Jim Jordan and Dan Tessier, trainer Rob Caruso and manager Don Maille.
