The North Bay Peewee AAA spring team came home with a win and a tie on the weekend against their rivals from Sudbury in the Nickel City.

In their first meeting Caleb Carnevale scored two goals and set up another as North Bay doubled the Sudbury AAA Peewee's 4-2.

Peewee AAA coach Randy Edmonds says his team started slowly in the opener and came back with a solid effort in the second half of the game.

"We started poorly as Sudbury with there physical play hemmed us in our zone for long periods of time," said Edmonds. "But we sorted things out only down 1-0 and got stronger as the game developed.

"The final minutes of the second period we were pressing really hard and had a 3-2 margin going into the third period. Sudbury is bigger and more physical than us but we are quicker."

In the North Bay Peewee AAA's second game they finished with a 4-4 tie against the same Sudbury squad.

The North Bay Peewee's trailed 2-0 at one point in the game and scored three straight goals to take a 3-2 lead before settling for the 4-4 draw.

Dylan Staples had a pair of goals and an assist in the tie.

The North Bay Peewee AAA Spring travel team will now have a three week layoff before heading down to Toronto for the McDonald's Tournament.
