North Bay’s Lucas Edmonds, who is playing for Karlstrona HK in Sweden has been invited to the Team Sweden U17 National team Camp December 14th to 17th in Stockholm, Sweden.

Edmonds, the son of former North Bay Skyhawks head coach Randy Edmonds, is a dual Swedish/Canadian citizen and was drafted in the 7th round of the 2017 OHL Priority Selection by the Kingston Frontenacs.

"We are really proud of him considering he left home at 15 in his OHL draft year to a new country," stated his father Randy Edmonds, who coached professionally in Sweden back in the 1990's and early 2000's.

Last season, Edmonds played for Frolunda Indians U16 team who won a silver medal in Swedish Championships.

It is a similar event to what North Bay native and Battalion prospect Payton Vescio attended with Team Canada Under-17 camp in Calgary last August.

The team Sweden camp will include 19 forwards, 12 defence and four goaltenders.

The team will play in Finland at the Four Nations Under-17 tournament including teams from Russia, Finland, and the Czech Republic.
