North Bay Hot Shots golden again

Sault Ste. Marie - The North Bay Hot Shots defended their title this past weekend by capturing Gold in Sault Ste. Marie's 3 on 3 Open Ice Tournament.

The Hot Shots finished 1st overall in round robin play winning 7-1 over Sudbury's Investor Kings as well as a 7-1 victory over the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhound 96’s before losing 5-4 in a hard fought battle to the Sault M&M Meatheads.

During semi-final play-off action the Hot Shots once again defeated the Investor Kings 5-0 advancing them to the finals Sunday afternoon to face their rival M&M Meatheads.

This time around however, the Hot Shots would be victorious showing determination and heart in squeezing out an exciting 7-5 win to capture their second Gold medal in as many years. Nick Watson's stellar goaltending performance proved too much for the strong Sault team stoning the Meatheads in a penalty shot shoot-out.
