North Bay Golfer wins tournament at Disney

The Canadian Under-19 national champ adds a win on the Future Collegians World Tour

North Bay's Ryan Neil, who captured the Canadian Under-19 Golf Championship in August, has just added another list to his impressive golf resume.  

Neil finished on top at a Future Collegians World Tour Event at Disney World on the weekend.  

He finished with a -2 in the two-round event at Vista Golf Course at Walt Disney World in Florida.  

The North Bay native posted a solid round of 73 in the final round to win by two shots.

Neil, who opened with a 69 (-3) on Saturday, began the final round with a one-shot lead. 

On Sunday He played an excellent front nine. He started off strong, making a birdie on hole #1. 

Then after a string of pars, he made another birdie on #8.

Ryan then made the turn at -2 (34).

The back side was not as kind to him.

He made bogey on # 12 and # 13.

Then on #14, he made a birdie. He followed that with two pars. On 17, however, he made a double bogey, but finished with a par.

His 142 was two shots better than second place.

Neil is currently is training at the GenNXT Golf Academy in Orlando as he hopes to acquire an NCAA Division I Golf Scholarship for the start of the 2018 season and he is considered one of the top young players in Canada for his age group.
