North Bay golf pro's win regional awards

A trio of North Bay golf pro's were recognized for their achievements at the Northern Ontario PGA awards banquet in February.
A trio of North Bay golf pro's were recognized for their achievements at the Northern Ontario PGA awards banquet in February.

Jeff Mancini of North Bay Golf Country Club was named the 2004 Club Pro of the Year, while his colleague at the Country Club, Travis Spiess, was named the Assistant Pro of the Year.

Glenn Cundari, who runs the Glenn Cundary Golf Academy in the city, was named the Teacher of the Year.

“On behalf of the NOPGA, it gives me great pleasure to recognize our zone awards winners”, said zone President Dan Garagan. “As always, our award winners, and the entire membership, are the leaders in golf in the golf community in Northern Ontario. On behalf of the zone Board of Directors, I congratulate all our winners”

The Northern Ontario Professional Golfer's Association is a regional zone of the Canadian PGA. The NOPGA is a is made up of 32 golf professionals and are the leaders in the golf community from Sault Ste. Marie to Timmins to North Bay. The members of this association are the frontline industry people that manage the golf courses, run local tournaments, teach thousands of lessons and help with golfers equipment needs. The NOPGA also offers a Northern Ontario Tour for the 32 professionals of Northern Ontario.
