North Bay dominates Soo Martial Arts event

Six members of Marceau's Martial Arts attended Pinder's Korean Martial Arts Championships in Sault Ste Marie on Saturday, June 2nd. It was a successful weekend as the entire team turned in nothing less than top four finishes all around.

It was a successful weekend as the entire team turned in nothing less than top four finishes all around.

In the Black Belt forms division the top four places went to just team members from North Bay. Sensei Rhonda Janveau placed first in Ladies Black Belt Sparring, and third in black belt weapons, while Sensei Stephen Collette finished 2nd in Black Belt Sparring and 4th in forms.

Sempai Shauna Groulx took third in junior Black Belt forms, Sempai Terri Lyn Ward finished 1st in all of her divisions; Forms, Weapons and Sparring.

Shihan Chris Marceau took first in both Black Belt Self-Defence, and Senior Black Belt Sparring, second in Black Belt Weapons and Open Hand Forms.

Those victories put him in place to be awarded Top Overall Black Belt of the day and Sensei Jason Webster placed first in all three divisions; Open Hand Forms, Weapons, and Black Belt Sparring. Webster also took Grand Champion in Black Belt Sparring.
