NDA track and field championship highlights

The Algonquin Barons track and field team captured the overall NDA title at the NDA track and field championships which took place on Thursday at Cundari field.

The Barons combined for 642 points ahead of the second place Chippewa Raiders who finished with 619 points overall.

Perron top athlete

It was a double victory for the Algonquin Barons track and field team as Alisha Perron was crowned the 2006-2007 NDA top track athlete.

The grade 12 student finished first in the senior girls shot put and discus, and finished third in the javelin.

Peroff wins again

West Ferris speedster Ken Peroff defended his title as the Fastest Man in the NDA as Peroff fended off Chippewa’s Jamie Stamler by 0.06 seconds to capture his second NDA 100 M senior title in as many years.

Peroff returned to his old school just before the Track and Field season began as he spent the rest of the school year in Brampton where he plays defence for the Ontario Hockey Leagues Brampton Battalion.
