NDA Tournament day one

In local action, the West Ferris Trojans struggled on day one. The Trojans opened the tournament at 8:00 a.m. with a 5-3 loss to Lockerby of Sudbury and then dropped a 5-0 decision to LaSalle on Friday afternoon.

The St. Joseph-Scollard Hall Bears opened on a winning note as they blasted Espanola 8-1 but then lost 3-2 to Central Algoma Senior Secondary.

The Widdifield Wildcats fell in a low scoring 2-1 affair against the Timmins High Blues Friday morning but they rebounded by defeating Algonquin 5-2 on Friday night.

The Barons finished the day 0-2 as they lost their opener 4-1 to Notre Dame.

The Chippewa Raiders opened with a 4-1 win over Temiskaming and then stayed unbeaten with a 5-2 win over Franco Cite.
