NDA Jr. Boys
The West Ferris Trojans and Scollard Hall Bears locked up this evening in NDA junior boys soccer action at the Trojan Alumni Complex. Both teams entered the game with unbeaten records, and the play on the field showed why.
After a scoreless first half with many chances for both teams, Anthony Scappatura opened the second half with a gritty play inside the Bear's 18-yard box, eventually putting the Trojans on the board. Later in the second half, the Bears responded with a beautiful head ball delivered by Darius Tignanelli into the far corner of the net beyond Trojans outstretched goalkeeper.
The game finished as a 1-1 tie with both teams carrying forward their undefeated records into the second half of the NDA soccer season.

Meantime, the Lady Trojans hosted the Chippewa Raiders for a 6:15 p.m. kick-off At West Ferris Field on Tuesday night.
Chippewa gave some great offensive pressure throughout the first half and Danika Parry scored a header from a corner kick at the 35 minute mark. The Lady Trojans also had a few scoring chances but could not find the back of the net in the first half.
The second half provided much entertainment but both goalies, Carissa Poulin from Ferris and Brianna Appleby from Chippewa were unbeatable until the 30 minute mark. Trojan's Kally Watmore set up a corner kick give and go, had a great cross and team-mate MacKenzie Crocker finished it with a beautiful header. In the final 10 minutes trojans struck again when Watmore out-raced chippewa's goalie and headed in a bouncer from just inside the 18 yard box.
Chippewa's sweeper, Morgan Amell played a solid game, as did Caitlin Meyers who swept, jumped up offensively and created more scoring opportunities for West Ferris.
West Ferris's Midfielder rookies Katie Barber, Samantha Therrien, and Erika Colwel battled hard for 50-50 balls. Katie Sargent and Carrie Beaver also provided some good passes to their strikers. Fullback Megan Frederick, Holly Pearce, and Kerri Schultz shut down Chippewa the second half.
