NDA Soccer - Bears slide by Raiders

The St. Joseph-Scollard Hall Bears handed the Chippewa Raiders their first loss of the season with a 3-1 victory on Tuesday night in NDA Senior Boys Soccer.

Mike Portugues scored twice for the Bears and Chris Uttaro added the other Bears goal.

Trojans blank Braves

The host West Ferris Trojans blanked the Northern Braves 5-0 in NDA Senior Boys soccer action. The game was close in the first half with the Trojans leading 2-0 on goals by Doug McRae and Sandy Burke. The Trojans broke the game open in the second half with Shayne Karn, Cam Boake and McRae finding the back of the net. Trojan keeper Tylor Cowdon recorded the shutout.

Trojan girls dominate Braves

Meantime the two schools hooked up in NDA Senior Girls play with the same result. The Trojan girls rolled over the Braves 9-1. Trojan girls scorers were Jessica Marlatt with three, Briana Saltstone with two goals, while Kylie Dechesne, Taylor Matson, Erica Ovens and Jen Ruttan added singles. Katie Fabbro scored the lone goal for the Braves.
