It came down to a penalty shot shootout to decide the Men's division title at the 2nd annual 2007 Canadian Pond Hockey Face-Off which took place this weekend at the Education Centre Pond behind Canadore College.

Moyer Printing fell behind 5-0 to the Pond Hawks but bounced back to take an 11-9 lead after regulation. But each team received four penalties which led to a shootout pond hockey style where the shooter has to shoot the puck into the empty net from the far end of the rink.

Beau Moyer potted two of his four shots. That set up an opportunity for the Pond Hawks Kevin Culhane to send the game to overtime but after scoring three times he fired the fourth and tying shot just past the outside of the post to give Moyer Printing the crown.

The win also gives Moyer Printing a free entry into the 2008 Northern Ontario Pond Hockey Championships which will take place next January in Haileybury.
