Bulldogs wide receiver Ford Morland caught a touchdown pass from Dave Wilson in the final minute of the game to give the North Bay Bulldogs a come from behind 21-18 victory over the Sarnia Imperials on Saturday night at the Trojan Alumni Complex here in North Bay.

Bulldogs running back Sterling Bilz had two touchdowns while Russ Burns recovered a fumble which set up the game winning drive.

Linebacker Dave Boyd followed up his record breaking 5 sack performance last week with 3 in the home opener.

Imperials quarterback Adrien Brown was a threat on every play as he completed 9 of 17 pass attempts but rushed for only 31 yards and a touchdown on 6 carries - a credit to the Bulldogs solid defence.

“We knew he was their leading rusher last week, so coach Lloyd made sure our LBs paid particular attention to where he was at all times,”said Bulldogs head coach Marc Mathon.

“As a team we are still working against ourselves with the penalties we are taking. 9 penalties for 75 yards is too much and will prevent us from developing our potential and getting to where we want to be. We will improve on that this week,” said Mathon.

With the win the Bulldogs improve their record to 2-1 on the season.

The Bulldogs have a short week as they are back in action on Friday night as they play host to the Tri-City Outlaws. Game time is 8:00 p.m. at Rolly Fischer Field.
