More late heroics for Voodoos as the winning streak hits 19

Ryan Theriault broke a 2-2 tie with less than 9 minutes left in regulation as the Powassan Voodoos extended their winning streak to 19 games with a 4-2 win over the Cochrane Crunch in Cochrane Saturday night.  

Ryan Theriault’s goal came only 15 seconds after Brandon McReynolds had tied the game at 2-2.  

Tyler Gervais-Rolfe sealed the win with an empty netter with a minute left in regulation.  

After a scoreless first period, Kyle Herbster got the Crunch on the board at 1:21 of the second period.  

With newcomer Austin Ramirez in the box, Gary Mantz got a shorthanded tally at 3:58 of the middle frame to tie the game 1-1.  

Battalion prospect Andy Baker gave the Voodoos a lead with a power play marker at 4:11 of the third period.   

The red hot Tyson Gilmour finished the night with a pair of assists.   

Nate McDonald got the win in goal turning away 39 Crunch shots.  

The Voodoos finish off a busy weekend with a 2 p.m. contest in Timmins against the Rock.
