Multiple sources are reporting that North Bay native Mike Yeo has been fired by the Minnesota Wild after today's 4-2 loss at home against the Boston Bruins.
Yeo, the head coach of the Wild, has seen his club lose eight in a row overall (0-6-2), eight in a row at home (0-5-3), 13 times in the past 14 games overall (1-11-2) and 16 times in 19 games since the calendar flipped to 2016 (3-12-4).
Yeo brought the Stanley Cup home to North Bay in 2009 when he was an assistant coach with the Pittsburgh Penguins.
Yeo was in his fifth season behind the bench with the Wild.
