Midget Trappers to play Team Kazahkstan

The North Bay Midget AAA Trappers are going to play some international competition as part of an exhibition series taking place Sudbury in late December.
The North Bay Midget AAA Trappers are going to play some international competition as part of an exhibition series taking place Sudbury in late December. Teams from Russia, Kazakhstan and the Ukraine will clash with Sudbury teams and the North Bay Midget AAA Trappers.

"This is a fantastic opportunity for teams from the Great North Midget League at this time of year and how fitting to be in an international game such as this," said Midget AAA Trappers head coach John Couch.

“Some of the kids and even our coaching staff may never get a chance to participate in an international game like this,” added Midget AAA Trappers assistant coach Mike Reise.

The Midget Trappers will play the 1995 Team Kazakhstan at the Countryside arena in Sudbury at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, December 31st.

The international game schedule is as follows:

Game time - 9:00 a.m.

1995 Team Kazakhstan
vs North Bay Midget "AAA" Trappers
Game time - 11:00 a.m.

1995 Team Ukraine
vs Sudbury Minor Midget Wolves
Game time - 1:00 p.m.

2000 Metallurg Magnitogorsk
vs Valley East Major Atom Rebels
Game time - 2:45 p.m.

Drop a pair

The Midget Trappers dropped their last two games before the break, losing a 5-3 decision to the Kirkland Lake Legion 87’s on Sunday and then lost 7-2 to the Nickel City Sons in Chelmsford on Tuesday.

Tyler Field had both goals for the Trappers in the Tuesday’s loss.
