Meghan Spencer wins Silver Medal

OTTAWA, ON - Gymtrix gymnast Meghan Spencer won the Silver medal on Vault this past weekend at the 3rd Ontario Women’s Qualifying competition held in Ottawa. The 11-year-old Level 5 athlete missed winning the Gold medal by one tenth of a point.
OTTAWA, ON - Gymtrix gymnast Meghan Spencer won the Silver medal on Vault this past weekend at the 3rd Ontario Women’s Qualifying competition held in Ottawa.

The 11-year-old Level 5 athlete missed winning the Gold medal by one tenth of a point.

Spencer also placed 7th on Balance Beam and 7th place Overall.

Melina Levasseur, a Provincial Level 7 gymnast, narrowly missed a podium finish after placing 4th on Vault.

Levasseur also had a 5th place finish on Balance Beam and a 4th place finish on Floor Exercise.

Victoria Desfosses placed 5th on Uneven Bars, 6th on Vault and 6th on Balance Beam in the Level 5 – 11 year old category.

Caleigh Porter finished 7th on Vault, 8th on Uneven Bars and 8th on Floor in the Level 6 – 12 year old category. Competing in the Level 5 – 10 year category, Emma Shea was 8th place on Vault.

The Women’s Artistic team is coached by Nicki Chretien, Bill Rhoads, Tara Alger, Robyn Grigg and Olivia Weerdenburg.

Remaining competitions for the Gymtrix Women’s team will include those held in Mississauga, Sudbury, and North Bay.
