Baie-Comeau Drakkar forward and North Bay Native Matt Marquardt was named the TELUS offensive player of the week in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League for the period extending from January 14 to 20, 2008.
Baie-Comeau Drakkar forward and North Bay Native Matt Marquardt was named the TELUS offensive player of the week in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League for the period extending from January 14 to 20, 2008.

In four games, including three on the road, the Drakkar forward scored four goals and assisted on four others to prolong his point streak to seven games. Marquardt played his best game of the week Sunday, at the Colisée Desjardins in Victoriaville, scoring his 34th and 35th goals (game-winner) of the season in a 5-3 win over the Tigres to become the QMJHL’s top goal scorer.

With a total of 71 points in 51 games, the Drakkar are first overall in the League standings.
