Windsor - Moe Mantha of the OHL's Windsor Spitfires has been suspended for one year as general manager and 25 games as coach for a hazing incident.

The Sturgeon Falls native who is entering his first year at coach/G.M. with the Spitfires, was banned for another 15 games as coach for fights in practice involving players Akim Aliu and Steve Downie, a 2005 first round pick of the Philadelphia Flyers. The Spitfires have also been fined $35,000. The punishments were announced by Ontario Hockey League commissioner David Branch.

The OHL says the hazing involved making players strip and stand in the small bathroom at the back of the team bus.

Downie has not returned to the team since his incident with Aliu and has demanded a trade.
