A total of 16 local Youth Bowlers from Partners Bowling competed in the 2nd step of the YBC Nationals Championship tournament Singles Division at Georgian Lanes, Parry Sound on Sunday December 9, 2018.
This is a major tournament in the YBC – it’s a tournament which goes through four steps leading up to the Canadian YBC National Championships.
The 4 steps are House Round, Zone Finals, Provincial Finals and finally National Finals.
The bowlers from North Bay competed in six possible singles categories.
Capturing gold medals were Anna Sands in the Bantam Girls division and Elijah Robillard in the Bantam Boys division.
Capturing silver medals were Gavin Dewar in the Bantam Boys division, Austin Sands in the Junior Boys division, Kyrsten Tremblay in the Senior Girls division and previous YBC
Nationals participant Thomas Williams in the Senior Boys division.
Capturing a bronze medal was Devyn Tremblay in the Junior Boys division
Anna and Elijah will represent the Gateway zone at the Provincials being held in Dryden, Ontario on March 2-3, 2019.
They will be joined by other Gateway zone winners: Junior Girls - Felicity Eckensviller from Haileybury, Junior Boys - Connor Lafleur from Sturgeon Falls, Senior Girls - Alexis Antler from Haileybury and Senior Boys - Stephane Bedard from Haileybury.
