A total of 39 Youth bowlers ages 6 to 18 representing Partners Bowling in North Bay, captured 6 Team Golds, 4 Team Silvers and 3 Team Bronze Medals.
The bowlers were participating in the 2nd step of the YBC National Championships zone round on Sunday, February 3rd, 2019 at various bowling centres throughout the region.
The gold and silver medal winners in the Bantam, Junior and Senior division will be moving on to the next round at the Northern Ontario Provincials to be held in Dryden, Ontario on March 2nd and 3rd, 2019.
Capturing gold:
- Junior Girls Team: Sadie Tremblay, Shelby Gaudreau and Coach Barry Tremblay
- Junior Boys Team: Devyn Tremblay, Austin Sands and Coach Dale McKenny
- Senior Girls Team: Kyrsten Tremblay, Emma Starcevic and Coach Cheryl Zilinski
- Senior Boys Team: Thomas Williams, Noah Starcevic and Coach Tom Williams
- Combo Girls Team: Mariah Allen, Alexis Lamb, Katelynn MacIntosh and Coach Remi Levasseur
- Combo Boys Team: Daniel Baker, Dallas Kightley, Dominick Martin and Coach Ellen Hurtubise
Capturing silver:
- Bantam Girls Team: Brianna Gauthier, Abby Hurtubise and Coach Sharon McKenny.
- Bantam Boys Team: Gavin Dewar, Carter Pigeau and Coach Ginette MacLean
- Senior Girls Team: Ariel Dougan, Gillian Widdop and Coach Cheryl Zilinski
- Combo Girls Team: Gabby Lebeau, Maliya Wilson, Jasmine Oliver and Coach Remi Levasseur
Capturing bronze:
- Junior Girls Team: Leah Spurvey, Alexa Mitchell and Coach Shirley Arbour
- Senior Boys Team: Nicholas MacLean, Jake McKenny and Coach Michael MacLean
- Combo Boys Team: Michel Lebeau, Thomas LeBoeuf, Liam Bull and Coach Ellen Hurtubise. An honorary bronze went to Michael Masse.
The 10 Gold/Silver Medal winners (Bantam/Junior/Senior) will be joining previous gold medal winners in the Singles division Anna Sands (Bantam Girls), Elijah Robillard (Bantam Boys) for an opportunity to qualify for the Nationals at the Provincials.
The bowlers, coaches, parents will endure a 17+ hour bus ride to Dryden, Ontario where the Provincials will be held. Good luck to all bowlers!
