Local Youth Bowler off to Provincials

Capturing a gold medal was Sadie Tremblay in the Bantam Girls division

Nineteen local Youth Bowlers from Partners Bowling competed in the 2nd step of the YBC Nationals Championship tournament Singles Division at Tri-Town Lanes, Haileybury on Sunday, December 12, 2017.

This is a major tournament in the YBC – it’s a tournament which goes through four steps leading up to the Canadian National Championships.

The 4 steps are House Round, Zone Finals, Provincial Finals and finally National Finals.

The bowlers from North Bay competed in six possible singles categories.

Capturing a gold medal was Sadie Tremblay in the Bantam Girls division. This the third consecutive year the former YBC Nationals competitor has captured that title.  Also capturing a gold medal was Ethan Ransom in the Bantam Boys division in only his 2nd year of bowling.   Four-time YBC Nationals participant, Liam Smith, captured a gold medal in the Senior Boys division.

Capturing a silver medal was previous YBC Nationals participant Thomas Williams in the Senior Boys division.

Capturing bronze medals were Gavin Dewar in the Bantam Boys division, Leah Spurvey in the Junior Girls division and Kyrsten Tremblay in the Senior Girls division

Sadie, Ethan and Liam will represent the Gateway zone at the Provincials being held in North Bay/Sturgeon Falls on March 3-4, 2017.  They will be joined by other Gateway zone winners:  Chase Stahls (Junior Boys from Parry Sound), Felicity Eckensviller (Junior Girls from Haileybury) and Alyssa Lavallee (Senior Girls from Haileybury).
