Local swim teams combine for victory in Buffalo

A group of 18 swimmers from the CFB Thunderbirds swim Club and the North Bay Y Titans recently participated as Nipissing Swim Association in the Titan Swim Club Long Course Invitational in Buffalo, New York. The three day meet attracted 632 swimmers from the New York area.

Top swimmers from the NSA team were Morgan Brown (14) with gold, silver, 2- 4th, 5th, 7th, 8th and 8 personal best times; Andrew Palangio (13) with 2 bronze, 4th, 3- 5th, and 3 personal best times; Greg Katsuno (12) bronze, 5th, 2- 6th and 5 personal best times; Scott Morawski (16) gold , bronze and 2 personal best times; Sam Crossley (17) 3- 6th and 2 personal best times; Maleah Seguin (12) 5th, 3 personal best times; Erin Emery (16) 6th and Kendra Driscoll (17) 8th, 1 personal best time.

Other swimmers who did well were Antoinette Busch (14) 3 personal best times; Carla De Ciccio (14) 6 personal best times; Scott Goodwin (12) 1 personal best time; Dylan Jackson (13) 6 personal best times; Constance Leavitt (13) 6 personal best times; Katie Marcella (16) 2 personal best times; Megan Menard (11) 4 personal best times; Carrie Mayne (15) 4 personal best times; Jessica Pask (16) 2 personal best times; Heather Waye (15) 1 personal best time.

The relay teams all did well with the Men 13-14 400 Medley relay team made up of Andrew Palangio, Morgan Brown, Dylan Jackson and Scott Goodwin earning a bronze while the Men 13-14 400 Free relay team of Morgan Brown, Andrew Palangio, Scott Goodwin and Dylan Jackson earned a 4th. The Men 15 & over 400 relay team of Greg Katsuno, Scott Morawski, Andrew Palangio and Morgan Brown earned a 5th place ribbon.

The Women 13-14 400 Medley relay team of Constance Leavitt, Carla De Ciccio, Antoinette Busch and Maleah Seguin earned a 6th. While the Women 13-14 400 Free relay team of Antoinette Busch, Carla De Ciccio, Constance Leavitt and Megan Menard earned 5th. The Women 15 & over 400 Free Relay team of Sam Crossley, Erin Emery, Katie Marcella and Kendra Driscoll won bronze and their fellow team of Jessica Pask, Heather Waye, Maleah Seguin, Carrie Mayne earned 4th. The Women 15 & over 400 Free relay team of Kendra Driscoll, Sam Crossley, Heather Waye and Erin Emery swam to a bronze while their team mates Jessica Pask, Carrie Mayne, Katie Marcella and Antoinette Busch earned a 4th place ribbon.

Both the Thunderbirds Swim Club and the North Bay Y Titans are back in competition May 27-29th at the Titans Invitational Swim Meet.
