Local Bowlers shine at Championships Tournament

North Bay teams were successful capturing three gold, three silver and two bronze team medals.

The Championships Annual Tournament took place on Sunday at various bowling centres throughout the region. 

North Bay teams were successful capturing three gold, three silver and two bronze team medals.  

The gold medal winners along with 1 silver medal winner will be moving on to the next round at the Northern Ontario Provincials to be held in Thunder Bay, Ontario on March 5th and 6th, 2015.

Finishing in 1st place (Gold) were the following youth bowlers:

-  Bantam Girls Team: Leah Spurvey, Jasmine Oliver and coach Barry Tremblay

-  Junior Girls Team: Kyrsten Tremblay, Taylor Couvrette, Emma Starcevic, Ariel Dougan and coach Kathy Grant

-  Junior Boys Team: Tyrone Woodbury, Noah Starcevic, Thomas Williams, Christopher MacLean and coach Natasha Tremblay

Finishing in 2nd place (Silver) were the following youth bowlers:

- Bantam Boys Team 1: Austin Sands, Nicholas LeBoeuf and coach Michael MacLean

- Senior Boys Team: Cody Edmunds, Liam Smith, Jordan Boehk, Hudson Booth and coach Phil 'Flipper' Smith

- Senior Girls Team: Tessa Grant, Willow Arbour, Lauryn Luquer, Laura-Anne Seaton and coach Jim Boehk.

Finishing in 3rd place (Bronze) were the following youth bowlers:

- Bantam Boys Team 2: Rylan Treen, Thomas LeBoeuf and coach Dale McKenny

- Combo Boys Team: Ethan Ransom, Cole Dudgeon, Jake McKenny and coach Tom Williams.

The gold medal winners along with the Bantam Boys Team 1 will be joining previous gold medal winners in the Singles division, Sadie Tremblay, Jack Robinson and Dylan Grant in Thunder Bay.
