Lakers teams drop openers

Both the Lakers and Lady Lakers dropped their opening contests of the soccer season.

In men's action, the Lakers were shut out 3-0 at the hands of Carleton University. Lakers officials claim it was a physical game that included a total of six yellow cards handed out; two to Lakers players.

Meantime, the Lady Lakers dropped a 4-2 decision to Carleton U. Erin Hoover and Nadia Paglianello scored for the Lady Lakers on Saturday.

On Sunday the Lady Lakers take on the defending OUA champions and CIS Bronze medalists from Ottawa University at noon.

Ottawa U. won its first match of the season defeating Laurentian U. 3-1.
