Lakers soccer teams ready to hit the pitch

The Lady Lakers will be kicking things off against Carleton University beginning at noon on Saturday at the Education Centre Field. The Lady Lakers are looking to improve on their 3-10-2 performance in 2006 while battling a tough opponent in Carleton who finished the 2006 season with an 11-2-3 regular season record and lost a 1-0 decision in the OUA quarter-finals to the National Bronze medalists Ottawa Gee-Gees.

On the men’s side the Lakers finished the 2006 season with a 4-8-2 record and earned their second consecutive playoff appearance. The Lakers were defeated by Toronto 4-1. Carleton finished the 2006 season with a 9-1-4 record tied for first place in the East division with Queen’s University. The Lakers game begins at 2:15 PM.

Sunday, beginning at noon the Lady Lakers will play a solo game against the defending OUA champions and CIS Bronze Medalists the Ottawa Gee-Gees. The game begins at noon and will be a tough test against a very good opponent.
