Lakers men’s hockey season ends in OT loss

Patrick Brown scored 55 seconds in overtime for the Laurier Golden Hawks to put an end to the Nipissing Lakers varsity men's hockey team's season with a 5-4 overtime win in the OUA East play-in playoff game at the Waterloo Memorial Recreation Complex on Sunday night. 

The Lakers held a 2-0 lead after two periods before the Golden Hawks third period comeback forced extra time. 

Payton Vescio, Kyle Foreman, Charles Farmer and Harrison Caines scored for the Lakers, while Reece Proulx finished with 32 saves in the contest.

The Lakers finished 7th in the OUA East with a record of 10-13-2-3 on the season which included a season-ending 7-game losing streak.
