Nick Huard's second goal of the game with 28 seconds left in regulation time lifted the Guelph Gryphons to a 4-3 win over the Nipissing Lakers in OUA pre-season action on Saturday night at Memorial Gardens.
Huard, a North Bay native and former North Bay Midget AAA Trapper, came down the right wing and his quick snap shot eluded Lakers netminder Jeremy Pominville for the game winner.
That goal spoiled a Lakers comeback as the Jim McDowell scored a pair of third period power play goals to even the score at 3-3.
Brogan Bailey had the other goal for the Lakers at 10:41 of the first period.
Andres Kopstals and Mike Charbonneau had the other goals for the Gryphons.
The two teams are back in action at 2:00 p.m. at Memorial Gardens.
