Lady Trojans upset Barons

The West Ferris Trojans snuck by the Algonquin Barons 37-28 in NDA Senior Girls Basketball action on Tuesday night.

Ashley Zen led the Lady Trojans with 14 points, while the Barons Chelsey Tremblay finished with a team high 10 points.

"The Trojans deserve full value for the victory, using a tenacious full court press to hold the Barons to 13 points in the 1st three quarters," said Barons head coach Tim Lowe.

The Barons made a game of it in the 4th quarter by outscoring the Trojans 15 to 11. But the Trojans were deadly from the charity stripe, going 9 for 12 in the final period.

Next up for the Trojans are the Franco-Cité Patriotes, while the Barons face the SJSH Bears. Both games are on Thursday night.

In other Senior Girls play, the Chippewa Raiders defeated the Franco-Cite Patriotes 51-43.

Junior Girls

In Junior Girls hoops, it was St. Joseph-Scollard Hall over Widdifield 40-15 and Chippewa defeated Franco-Cite 31-23.
