In her second pitching start of the season, Taylor threw a no-hitter against Cambrian College Golden Shield Sept. 15, allowing only two base runners on walks.

Her performance earned her the OCAA female athlete of the week award for the week of Sept. 13-19.

Earlier today, Taylor was selected as the league’s rookie of the year. The award was officially announced at the OCAA fastball championship banquet at Seneca College in Toronto.

“Awesome,” a jubilant Taylor said when informed of the award. “I really didn’t even know there was a rookie vote. It’s great. I’m really excited.”

The award was inaugurated this season and voting was done by the league coaches.

Wilson had a won-loss record of 2-5 for the 3-9 Panthers and a sparkling earned run average of 2.21. She gave up 45 hits in 44 and a third innings and struck out 24 batters.

Her pitch total for the season was 387 strikes and 245 balls. Taylor completed all of her seven starts and did not allow any home runs.

On the batting side, Taylor had 10 hits in 39 trips to the plate for an average of .278.
