Lady Lakers advance to OCAA final four

The Nipissing Lady Lakers advanced to the OCAA final four with a 3-0 (25-17, 25-17, 25-13) sweep of the visiting Durham Lords.
The Nipissing Lady Lakers advanced to the OCAA final four with a 3-0 (25-17, 25-17, 25-13) sweep of the visiting Durham Lords.

The win puts the Lady Lakers in the semi-finals for the fourth straight season and one win away from reaching the gold medal match. The Lakers will face the winner of the Algonquin, St. Clair match that will be played at 3:00 p.m. in Ottawa.

"It was nice to come out with the victory today," said head coach Marc LaRochelle.

"I don't think it was our best match of the season but to the teams credit they got the job done. We will work hard this week on our execution this week as we prepare for our semi-final match."

Stefanie Hancock led the offense with 11 points followed by Chandra Massey with 10 points and Laura Hudson added 9. Laura Hudson was named the Lakers player of the game.

The Lakers will be departing Thursday, February 26th for a team practice and the OCAA awards banquet. The Lady Lakers will play their semi-final match Thursday February 27 at 12:00 PM. All final four matches will be available via webcast on the championship website at:
