This past Saturday the Junior ‘A’ Trappers teamed up with the North Bay North Stars Special Needs hockey team for a special exhibition match at the 4th annual Monster Pond Hockey Tournament. The Trappers and North Stars mixed ranks and played two adjacent games from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m.

One lucky North Star player won a Junior ‘A’ Trappers sweatshirt and tickets to the Sunday game against the Manitoulin Islanders. The Trappers would like to thank the North Bay North Stars team and management for the opportunity to participate in this event and for their continued support throughout this season. We would also like to thank the Monster Pond Hockey organizers for putting on this fantastic event.

On Sunday, the Junior ‘A’ Trappers took on the Manitoulin Islanders at Memorial Gardens. The Trappers scored early and kept the pressure on the Islanders resulting in a 13–2 victory. Leading the offensive charge for the Trappers were Stan Smrke with 4 points (3G, 1A), Darnell Koosees with 4 points (2G, 2A), Morgan Rudiger with 4 points (1G, 3A), Matthew Pepin with 3 points (1G, 2A) and Jonathon Aubertin with 2 points (2G).

The Trappers travel to Iroquois Falls on Tuesday to face the Abitibi Eskimos. Fans can catch the game streaming live on www.fasthockey.com this Tuesday night at 7:00 p.m.
