June Pike Live Release Tourney a success

The Nosbonsing Anglers & Hunters would like to report that they had another successful June Pike Live Release Tournament on Lake Nosbonsing, on Sunday June 14th, 2009.

A total of 129 Teams registered by Sunday morning.

The participants came from all over Ontario, Quebec and Michigan.

The largest fish caught was 38 ¾ inches by Mark O’Byrn of Chelmsford and Marc Pitre of Garson; 2nd largest was 34 5/8 inches by Pat Bazinet of Verner and Roger Tetreault of Limoges; 3rd largest fish was 34 ¼ inches by Mike Lacroix and Gerald Judd, from Cache Bay

The top 6 Cash winners for a 5 fish limit for the day were:

1st - Ted Filippou of Woodbridge and Dave Chong from Aurora – 1st Prize of $7,000.00 plus Bonus Tournament winners of $5,400. Total of $12,400.00
2nd - Pat Bazinet of Verner and Roger Tetreault of Limoges – 2nd Prize of $ 4,000.00
3rd - Denis Leblond and Mike Leblond of North Bay – 3rd Prize $3,000.00
4th - Mike Masko of Sturgeon Falls and Sam Baptiste of North Bay – 4th Prize $2,000.00
5th - Marc Lafontaine & John Blumson of North Bay -- $1,200.00
6th - Mike Lacroix and Gerald Judd from Cache Bay -- $800.00

Over 300 pike were caught and live released back into Lake Nosbonsing.

Our 14th Annual June Pike Tournament is underway now for June 13th 2010 with 8 teams already signed up.
