Jr. Skyhawks make NOHA finals

The West Ferris Wingate Jr. Skyhawks Atom AA squad hosted the 2007 NOHA Tournament of Championships this past weekend at the West Ferris arena. Our Jr. Skyhawks finished round robin play in third place with 2 wins and 2 losses. We had 2 decisive wins over the Timmins Titans, (9-3), and the Sudbury Jr. Wolves, (6-0) and they fell short to two strong clubs, the Copper Cliff Redmen and the Sault Ste. Marie Titans.

The Jr. Skyhawks met the Copper Cliff Redmen in the semi-final and beat them when it counted with a hard fought 3-1 victory. Goal scorers included Matthew Peterson-Galema, Chris Davidson and Adam Fulton.

This set up the gold medal final between our Jr. Skyhawks and the Sault Ste. Marie Titans. The Titans won gold with a
6-3 win. The Jr. Skyhawks had a super tournament and can hold their heads high as finalists to a highly accredited team. Goal scorers for the Jr. Skyhawks in the final game included, Brett Hargrave, Lucas Brown and Paul Wilkinson.
