Jr. Bears finish off dominant NDA soccer season

The St. Joseph-Scollard Hall junior boys soccer team finished off a perfect 4-0 regular season with a 2-0 shutout over the Chippewa Raiders in the NDA junior boys championship game on Tuesday at Cundari Field. 

Michael Dech and  Noah Kozmick scored for the Bears who defeated the Algonquin Barons 3-1 in the semi-finals. 

Raiders keeper Ryan Lampkin was solid in goal for the Chippewa squad turning away a penalty kick. 

The Bears prevailed and finished the season unbeaten, along with scoring 27 goals and only allowing one goal against all season. 

"We were expecting a tight game and the boys knew they would need to elevate their game for the finals," said Frank Ricciuti, dedicated junior Bears head coach.  

"The boys have been training hard since February and have been fully committed to the program. We are looking forward to NOSSA on Friday." 

The Raiders and Bears will both move on to NOSSA which takes place in Sudbury. 

Jr. Bears eam members include Deacon Bouchard, Dante Célèbre, Michael Dech, Vincent Fulcher, Scott Sczcygiel, Jalen Adams, Edgar Asuibar, Colton Booth, Jackson Curran, Ryan Daze, Will Hanselman, Owen Head, Nate Hummel, Noah Kozmick, Josh Misturada, Sebastian Moreno Villa, Jack O'Shell-Sczcgiel, Austin O'Shell, Ezekiel Proctor, and Jackson Rivet.

Coaches are Frank Ricciutti, Antonio Cipparone, Andy Hazelwood, Michael Cipparone. The Trainer is Devin Turner.
