Jr. Barons win NDA Basketball title

The Algonquin Barons junior boys basketball team won the NDA championship Monday night over the Scollard Hall Bears at Scollard Hall by a score of 54-28.
The Algonquin Barons junior boys basketball team won the NDA championship Monday night over the Scollard Hall Bears at Scollard Hall by a score of 54-28.

The win gives the Junior Barons their first NDA basketball championship since 1994, the year most players on the team were born.

Gabriel Rancourt led all scorers with 17 points. Tanner Owca and Ricky Dussault helped out in the win with timely baskets and great passes. The Bears were led by Darius Tignanelli with 11 points.

Up next for both teams are the NOSSA championships.

Algonquin is hosting the A championships Thursday and Friday. The Bears play in the AAA championships hosted by West Ferris Friday and Saturday.
