Ice Boltz make thunder in Nepean

The North Bay' Promo Sports Depot Midget "A" Ice Boltz girls hockey club travelled to Ottawa this past weekend to participate in the 28th Annual Nepean Winterlude Girls Hockey Tournament.


The North Bay' Promo Sports Depot Midget "A" Ice Boltz girls hockey club travelled to Ottawa this past weekend to participate in the 28th Annual Nepean Winterlude Girls Hockey Tournament.

The club started slowly, losing their first game to Clarington, but then won their next round robin games against Durham and Napanee. In the Semi-Finals the Ice Boltz were able to defeat Clairington in the rematch game by a score of 2-1 following a shootout. In the Finals, North Bay beat the undefeated Whitby Wolves by a score of 3-0 to capture the Midget "A" Tournament Championship. This is the Ice Boltz fourth tournament championship out of the six tournaments they have competed in this season.

In the back row are (left to right) are Luc Seamont (Head Coach), Cindy Desormiers (Trainer), Ashley Desormiers, Jodie Stevens, Sara Maillet,Michelle Cicci, Kylie Deschenes, Hannah Campbell, Don Campbell(Assistant Coach), Sandy Deschenes (Trainer).

Next tournament action for the Ice Boltz next will be the Walter Gretzky tournament at the end of this month.
