Ice Boltz Atoms golden in Toronto

The North Bay Promo Sports Atom "A" Ice Boltz captured the gold medal this past weekend at the Toronto Leaside girls hockey tournament. In round robin play the Ice Boltz lost to the Guelph Thunder 5–0, beat Toronto Leaside 1–0 and clinched a berth in the finals by beating Markham 3-1.

The Ice Boltz met up with the Guelph Thunder in the finals and exacted revenge by gaining a 3–0 victory to claim the gold medal. Team members include Loryn Pearson, Gabrielle King, Shawna Armstrong, Mary Grannary, Veronique Gareau, Cristina Brownlee, Dagmar D' Agastino, Stephanie Guay, Hunter Lounds, Lia Castiglione, Kara Castiglione, Jordann Gauvreau, Maria Dominico and Camelia Brind' Amour. The coaching staff includes Whip Armstrong, Kevin Dominico, Rick Guay, Rob Lounds and Noreen Pearson.
