Ice Boltz finish 4-1 in the high profile midget AA girls tourney

The Alamos Gold midget AA Ice Boltz went 4-1 at the USA/Canada Cup held in Kitchener over the weekend.

The Boltz won 4 straight games, as they started with a 5-0 win over Washington Pride on Friday morning. In the afternoon game the Boltz defeated Oakville Hornets 3-2.

On Saturday morning the girls kept rolling with a 4-2 win over Saugeen Maitland Lighting.

In the final round robin game the team played OHA hockey academy and came away with a 3-1 victory.

The 4-0 record would secure the Ice Boltz second spot in pool A among the 16 teams only missing first place by goals against differential.

The Boltz would face the Vancouver Comets who had a 4-0 record in pool B for the bronze medal.

The Comets are ranked 5th in Canada with a 25-1-2 record and would put an end to the Ice Boltz winning streak by defeating the Boltz 6-1.

In total 32 teams competed in the showcase event from Canada,USA and the Ice Boltz finishing in the top 4.
