The Sudbury Wolves are pleased to announce that former North Bay Centennial Assistant coach Tom Hedican has joined the Sudbury Wolves organization as a Goaltender Coach for the 2007-08 season. Hedican replaces Mike Lawrence who served as a part-time goaltender coach with the Wolves last season.

Hedican also works as a goaltending consultant in the Swiss Professional Elite Hockey League and he has worked with NHL goalies including Montreal Canadiens Cristobal Huet and former Centennial and Phoenix Coyotes goalie Alex Auld.

Despite his many years working for the rival North Bay Centennials, Hedican claims he always had a good relationship with the Sudbury Wolves.

“I am thrilled to be a part of an organization which has such a great tradition and hockey history,” said Hedican.

“In the short time that I have been with the Wolves organization, I have been extremely impressed with the ownership and the team management. I look forward to assisting the club advance to the next level as League Champions.”

Mike Foligno the Wolves head coach and general manager believes they are lucky to get such a high-calibre goalie coach.

"Tom has been developing young goaltenders in the OHL and in Europe for many years and he has worked with NHL goalies as well," said Foligno.

"These goalies speak very highly of Tom and I look forward to giving him the opportunity to work with our goaltenders this season.”

Aside from his duties with the Wolves, Hedican will continue to do his goaltending consulting overseas.

Hedican will be in North Bay when the Wolves travel to North Bay to play the Rouyn-Noranda Huskies in CHL Exhibition action tonight. Game time is 7:00 p.m.

Tickets are still available at $10.00 per person and can be purchased at the Memorial Gardens box office.
