Melissa Drouin turned in a gold medal performance in the provincial Level 1, 15 and over category.

In the provincial level 3 girls, Jenna Hebert and Robyn Rodger finished 14th and 15th.
Marissa Rodger placed 13th in the Provincial Level 2, 14 and under category.

On the boys side, Cody Heins and Bourton Scott finished 15th and 17th in the novice national category and Mackenzie Rodger performed well, finishing eighth in the provincial boys Level 3.

Coach Jeff Marceau added that there may be more added to the qualification list for the Eastern Canadian championships in Lachenaie, Quebec May 1-2.

“They are taking the top 13 in each category using the results from the second and third qualifier. We should know who has qualified within the week,” Marceau said.

“It’s great for my athletes to be at the same competition as the current women’s world champion Karen Cockburn and the Canadian men’s and women’s national champions Mathieu Turgeon and Heather McManus,” Marceau added.

“They get a great deal of inspiration from these athletes and it nice for them to see what good really is and that Canadian athletes can be the best in the world,” he said.
