Guillemette thinking Pink

It was a real honour this summer for Ann-Renee' Guillemette when her hockey team announced that the senior blue-liner would be the captain of the ECAC team.

Little did she know that the “C” she would be sporting would be on a Pink Yale jersey. Guillemette along with all her teammates will be wearing the unique colours as part of the ECAC’s “Pink in the Rink” breast cancer awareness program for a pair of games on February 8th and 9th against the Quinnipiac Bobcats and Princeton Tigers.

“It’s definitely going to be really strange,” the North Bay native told the Yale Daily News.

“Pink is a really girly color and ice hockey is not a girly sport. But it’s for breast cancer and it’s a change from the regular white and blue uniforms. Anything we can do to help and if it’s wearing pink jerseys, then that’s what we’ll do. I like pink. I’m not against pink. Pink is a color like any other color.”

Guillemette won’t have her pink #13 Yale jersey for long as the game worn pinks will go up for auction on-line after the game.

BayToday.ca will update readers that weekend with the proper on-line auction link if you are interested in purchasing this unique piece of hockey memorabilia.
