Melanie Guillemette is having a tremendous rookie year with the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute Engineers.

The former Algonquin graduate scored six goals and added 14 assists for 20 points in her first 21 games in U.S. women’s college hockey. Those are pretty impressive numbers for someone playing defence in one of the top hockey conferences in the U.S. (ECAC).

Guillemette joined the Engineers after playing with the Stoney Creek Junior Sabres and was a member of Ontario’s under 18 girls hockey team in 2005.
