Erin Grigg of North Bay Gymtrix won a bronze medal on the vault in the all around and events final at the Canadian gymnastic national championships held here.

Grigg, from North Bay Gymtrix, was 14th overall out of 56 gymnasts in the all around competition. She was 15th on the beam and 16th on the floor.

Grigg also was a member of the Ontario national open team which won the gold medal with a score of 149.825.

“It was a great week, but I’m pretty tired right now,” Grigg said. “The other Ontario team members were great and the competitions were exciting. I had a few problems, but I’m happy with my performance and can’t wait to get back to the gym and start learning new skills for next year.”

“It was a great learning experience for all of us,” coach Nicki Ranney said. “We were here for a week and we were either training or competing.”

“We are so proud of Erin and her performance,” coach Bill Rhoads added. “Our goal was just to get here and gain experience for next year. For Erin to get a medal on vault was a bonus. Next year we look forward to both Erin and her sister Robyn coming to nationals and performing very well.”
