Greco's Midget Blades help Coach4Food

The Greco's Midget 'A' Blades, in a high-paced practice, loaded 1,089 more pounds on to Tom Hedican's Coach4Food campaign. That pushes the 2009 total to 5,614 pounds (more than 2.5 tons). The Blades were sponsored with a cash donation by Ernie Hedican, in memory of his late wife Shirley, a long time supporter of the North Bay Food Bank.

Coach4Food, where teams are put through NHL and European professional skill drills in return for non-perishable food items, will continue through December, with the final total being announced Dec. 23. Last year was a record setting year with Coach4Food raising 60,482 pounds for the North Bay Food Bank.
