North Bay native Kevin Kerr will have to wait until at least Sunday for his next shot to break the all time minor professional hockey goal scoring record.

The right winger, 37, who plays with the Flint Generals of the United Hockey League, has already notched 663 goals, tying the record set by Scott Gruhl, who did it from 1979-1996.

But Kerr was unable to break the record tonight as the Generals lost to the Muskegon Fury 3-2.

Flint is back in action Dec. 26 against the Motor City Mechanics.

Kerr, whose record breaking journey was featured in the Hockey News earlier this season, played his first minor professional hockey game in 1987.

If you want to listen to the possible record breaking game, you can hear it on the Flint Generals website at www.flintgenerals.com.
