Exhibition High School Baseball

A high school exhibition baseball schedule will begin on May 20th.

The West Ferris Trojans started up a baseball team this spring that is playing exhibition games in the Barrie area. On Tuesday the Trojans won their first game beating Eastview 3-0 improving their record against Barrie-area teams to 1-1-1.

Dale Valade pitched a complete game 2 hitter for the victory. He gave up 3 walks and struck out 9 batters. Valade also had 2 hits with others going to Sam Barber, Charlie Hancock, Jake Tougas, Thomas Hamilton and Chris Kangur.

A total for four local teams will take part the local high school schedule with more expected next year.

Trojans baseball head coach Larry Tougas started up the program and he hopes it can become another major high school sport and one that local teams can play on and eventually compete at the NOSSA and OFSAA level.
